Tissot PRX (40 mm) - T137.410.16.041.00

In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model that featured a slim case, narrow indices, and a steel bracelet. Its wide, horizontal lug, typical for the era, was perfectly integrated into the flat, tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. "PR" stood for "precise" and "robust." The "X" represented the Roman numeral ten and indicated a pressure of 10 bar, equivalent to a depth of 100 meters, to which the watch remained water-resistant. In 2021, Tissot presents the PRX 40 205, with the numbers referencing the product number of the original watch. It is a modern interpretation of the predecessor model. The 316L stainless steel case of the Tissot PRX 40 205 has a diameter of 40 mm. It features a slight tonneau shape and is adorned with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets. The Tissot PRX 40 205 Quartz is equipped with a sunray dial in combination with nickel-plated indices and hands. Additionally, there is a variant with a satin-finished, silver-grey dial with rose gold-colored indices and hands – a color combination that also harks back to the late 1970s. The lines of the case extend directly into the bracelet without the use of traditional lugs. The hands of the PRX 40 205 are coated with SuperLumiNova® and are set very close to each other. This allows the dial to be brought closer to the watch crystal. The optical effect achieved by the Tissot designers makes the watch's case appear even flatter and slimmer than it actually is. This version features a blue sunray dial with indices and a blue leather strap with a standard buckle.
