Welcome to a new chapter of full-metal G-SHOCK watches. We utilized shock resistance data from over 40 years of G-SHOCK tests and delved deeply into the collaboration between human designers and AI to discover entirely new methods for generative structural and exterior design. We maintained the iconic shape of the original G-SHOCK while developing a new structure that extends the case to the lugs to further reduce shock transmission. The complex, modern form seen from the side highlights the structural beauty of the design. An inner protection made of resistant resin temporarily deforms to absorb shocks, creating a watch with a full-metal case that meets G-SHOCK shock resistance standards. The stainless steel case features a screw-lock back to ensure a tight seal. To enable the solar-powered operation of the high-resolution full-dot MIP LCD with memory embedded in each pixel – a display frequently used in G-SHOCK sports models – we also developed a more energy-efficient version. This new display offers a total of eight different display styles: You can choose from two distinct styles – the easy-to-read STANDARD and CLASSIC for a traditional 7-segment design – in four display modes. The display uses a high-precision, high-contrast MIP LCD with a wide viewing angle, which is not only charged by ambient light – sunlight or even fluorescent light – but also allows for more detailed representation for excellent readability even in bright outdoor areas and direct sunlight. The time mode display layout harks back to the look of the very first G-SHOCK, combining traditional design with advanced functionality.
