Welcome to a new chapter of all-metal G-SHOCK watches. We used shock resistance data from over 40 years of G-SHOCK testing and explored the collaboration between human designers and AI in depth to discover entirely new methods for generative structural and exterior design. We retained the iconic shape of the original G-SHOCK while developing a new structure that extends the case to the band lugs to further reduce shock transmission. The complex, modern shape seen from the side highlights the structural beauty of the design. An inner protective layer made of durable resin temporarily deforms to absorb shocks, creating a watch with an all-metal case that meets G-SHOCK shock resistance standards. The stainless steel case features a screw-down case back to ensure a tight seal. To enable the solar-powered operation of the high-resolution Full Dot MIP LCD with memory embedded in every pixel—a display frequently used in G-SHOCK sports models—we also developed a more energy-efficient version. This new display offers a total of eight different display styles: you can choose from two different styles—the easy-to-read STANDARD and CLASSIC for a traditional 7-segment design—in four display modes. The display uses a high-precision, high-contrast MIP LCD with a wide viewing angle that is not only powered by ambient light—sunlight or even fluorescent light—but also enables a more detailed display for excellent readability even in bright outdoor areas and under direct sunlight. The layout of the time mode display draws on the appearance of the very first G-SHOCK, combining the traditional design with advanced functionality.
